Windows XP Support to End in April 2014

Microsoft support for Windows XP, including Windows XP Professional for Embedded Systems and Office 2003, ends on April 8, 2014, by which users will no longer receive any new security updates, free or paid assisted support options, or online content updates.

Microsoft’s decision to end Windows XP support is based on the concept to provide a new modern Windows platform that meets the demands of the modern workers and businesses and protect them against viable security threats and also keeping them updated on the latest technological trends and advancements.

Microsoft Windows 8.1 comes as the modern OS for modern businesses, building on Windows 7 fundamentals like speed, reliability and security, while creating an advanced platform designed to fully harness the power of cloud computing. It gives a direct and profound access to businesses, running with the latest technology and maintaining cost efficiency. Its additional business apps are enabled to transform a machine into highly productive device for business.

Amir Rao, Country Manager for Microsoft Pakistan said, “Business and information technology has dramatically changed over the last decade. Newer forms of systems have launched and so as the malware threats from software hackers have increased.

“Windows 8.1 provides a faster boot experience, very attractive user interface, and better search interface as compared to previous OS. Moving and copying files are much easier, while the new task manager has everything you need to manage your app, Cloud sync of settings and preferences are stored in the cloud and synced across your Windows 8 devices. It makes it easier than ever to work and access from anywhere.” He added.
