The renowned Cisco is responsible for up gradation for PTCL while the Nokia Siemens Network is upgrading its client Telenor. The need for upgradation is dire as the world is now shifting towards a new concept of networks: known as the Next Generation Networks or NGN. The continued protests by employees, the management of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) Thursday unveiled new financial benefits for all its employees. “We congratulate the employees on the approval of the new financial benefits for them under which all employees of Grade 1 to 19 and equivalent (including NCPG and NTC) will get one Basic Pay with minimum of Rs 7,500/- and maximum of Rs 15,000,” said Ali Qadir Gilani, Executive Vice President, Marketing & Communications, PTCL while talking to local news agency. “All daily wages employees will get Rs 7,500/- salary increase as Special Relief Allowance, while the following rates would be effective from July 1, 2009 for Regular (1-16) and NCPG who would get 20 percent of the basic pay while the regular employees from Grade 17 and above would get 15 percent of Basic Pay,” he added.
