SC Granted Appeal Plea of PTCL
Supreme Court (SC) has granted appeal plea of PTCL against the decisions of three high courts on grant of full pension and facilities to the employees who have been retired under voluntary scheme and has rejected employees appeals by suspending high court decision given in their favor.
PTCL Launches Distinctive Bill Alert Service
Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) has introduced a new service “Bill Alert Service” to facilitate its wireless (Postpaid) and landline customers.
This new service will help the customers to protect them against late deposits of bills and hassle of additional surcharges. This service by PTCL will inform its customers about their bill and its due date of payment via SMS alert on 10th and 17th of each month without any additional charges.
PTCL Group Revenue Rs.25.4 Billion in 1st Quarter 2010
During the period under review, PTCL Group revenue at Rs. 25.4 billion was 4% higher than the same period last year. However, because of catastrophic floods in most part of the country, PTCL revenue at Rs. 13.9 billion declined by 4% during this period as compared to same period last year. The attrition was mostly witnessed in revenue from PSTN, International Business and Carrier & Wholesale segments. On the other hand, revenue from Broadband services (wireline and wireless) showed promising increase in this period.

Supreme Court of Pakistan Fined Fifty Thousands Rupees to PTCL
Supreme Court of Pakistan has charged fifty Thousands rupees to Pakistan Telecommunication Limited on depriving basic rights of an employee of the said department. Three-member bench of SC, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and comprising Justice Ghulam Rabbani and Justice Khalil -ur-Rehman Ramday heard the petition filed by a retired employee Allah Dad.
