Govt to Utilize ICTs to Move into Era of Electronic Service

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Syed Sumsam Ali Shah Bukhari Monday said that the government believed in utilizing Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) to move into the era of electronic service.The government will deliver (e-Services) by simplifying procedures and making credible and timely information available to all the citizens at all levels.He said this while inaugurating ‘National Rabta Information Portal’ (www.pakistan-pk), a single source facilitation web portal developed by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), providing information and content repository to information seekers from within and outside the country at one place.

Naeem Zamindar & Zouhair Khaliq Confirmed as CEO & Board Director at Wateen

$508 Million FDI Decline in Telecom Sector in 2009-10

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has revealed the latest figures of total Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the telecom sector for the year 2009-10. The total FDI in this period stood at $1.13 billion in 2009-10. This amount is about $508 million less than the previous fiscal year. The amount spent on the infrastructure development in the Telecom sector has been around $908 million and the mobile share in total telecom sector 80 percent.
