iPhone 4S with the new Siri Personal Assistant is releasing tomorrow officially. It looks like that Siri will be the key feature of the device, as many people are longing to an iPhone 4S just for the fun of this newly introduced voice recognition system. Apple introduced Siri only in iPhone 4S and claimed that as iPhone 4S comes with a powerful A5 processor and that’s why Siri will only run on iPhone 4S.
We previously reported that Hackers were trying to run Siri on iPhone 4 and other previous Apple devices but the new reports confirm that Siri cannot be ported to iPhone 4 or other device without doing piracy.
Last week, it was reported that a well know hacker and a member of jailbreak community, iH8sn0w started to find a way to port Siri to iOS based devices other than iPhone 4S. According to him, Siri can be ported to other devices, it is not impossible but the developers will have to move towards piracy to achieve this goal. The same statement was made MuscleNerd who is a member of iPhone Dev Team. As you might know that members of jailbreak community have always been against piracy and we think that they will not change their principles for a Siri port.
Earlier today, Following tweet was sent out by MuscleNerd:
Anyone hoping for a “port” of Siri from iPhone4S: pending a very low-level A5 exploit, it likely can’t be done without piracy
Additionally, MuscleNerd also stated that only legal way to port Siri to iPhone 4 or any other device like iPad or iPod touch, is that they get can access the main FileSystem keys. And for getting FileSystem keys developers will need a a low level bootrom exploit for the A5 processor. As, it was previously reported that hackers are unsuccessful to find any bootrom exploit for the A5 processor, at least for now. So, the only way Siri can be ported to iPhone 4 is by piracy.
Hackers and Developers have to resort to piracy for doing this and it also puts them at risk of being sued by Apple too. So, surely they will have to come up with another way.
