A new feature has been added to Google + today, the news was posted on Google + by Josh Estelle of Google and then it was shared by Robert Scoble. Google Translate features are added in Google + with the help of a Chrome extension. According to Scoble, this feature works great and you can translate all the non-English content on Google + with this feature.

There is an inline Translate button added below every post, which on clicking, translates the post. When you click the translate button the text is translated and highlighted and the button changes to a Show Original option. If you want to revert the text back to its original language you can use this button then.

We have tested this extension by ourselves and it really works wonders. It gives you same perfect quality which you get while translating a web page through Google Translate website. Google Translate has been getting mixed reviews since it has started, some say that it works better than the other tools and some think that it doesn’t translate context well. Anyhow, the addition of this feature in the Google + is very cool and its inline positioning with which you can easily toggle it on and off anytime you want.

If you need to customize the extension you can visit chrome://extensions/, where you can choose which languages to translate the posts into, a bunch of languages are supported by the extension. You can also select the highlighted color with it. This extension also works on the comments. You can translate comments with it too.
