Fake Apple Stores in China Appear very 'Real'

China is seeing a growth in sales of Apple products. The fan base for iDevices is increasing day by day and more stores are opening in the country. This growth has been further accelerated by the news that China Telecom will be launching the new iPhone soon. As the profits for Apple rise from the Chinese market, there is also a major problem : Fake Apple Stores.

Recently a report has come forward about a Fake Apple store that looked so real that even the employees working there genuinely believed that they were selling Apple products. The store had got everything right! The White Apple Logo, wooden tables and welcoming staff! There are the common characteristics you will find in every Apple store world wide.

Apple has authorized near a thousand resellers in China but that hasn’t stopped the Fake store owners from trying their luck. More surprising is the fact that the Fake stores are often selling the 101% real Apple products that have been obtained by illegal means such as smuggling. This makes it pretty hard for the consumers to differentiate between the real and fake stores.

Apple must try to close down as many fake stores as it can to safeguard the integrity of its products. Fortunately for the fake store owners, the penalty if you get caught is so low that its easy to setup a new shop again. Pakistani mobile market has already seen a stream of low cost Chinese phones that have challenged the actual brands. Lets see how Apple handles this one in China.
