Pakistan tops LINREasia's TRE Survey!
The recent Telecom Regulatory Environment (TRE) Survey conducted by LIRNEasia showed an improvement in TRE in Pakistan since 2008. India and Indonesia also showed improvement while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Philippines showed decline in performance. Thailand showed no significant improvement than last year.
Court Dismissed The Petitions Of LDI Operators Against PTA
The Islamabad high court has dismissed the case filled by Long Distance and International (LDI) operators against PTA in which the legitimacy of Access Promotion Contribution (APC) for the Universal Service Fund (USF) had been challenged. Multinet and few other LDI operators have not given their amount for APC due to which the license of Multinet and other LDI operators got cancelled by PTA.
