Size of Gadgets:

The first thing that comes to our mind while comparing two different mobiles or related gadgets is their size. This method was discovered and shared by the XDA Developers member Pzyduck Droid Razr HD users, so that they could save their devices by restoring them to stock. This is also useful for people who have made a mistake during their adventures of flashing and soft-bricked their phone. This procedure will also help restore the phone to stock factory firmware if the users for some reason feel the need to exchange, return or repair their device to Verizon.

Things that need to be taken care of:

Lease read the things mentioned below carefully and follow the instructions to the dot.

1. Keep a backup of all the saved data in phone storage as everything will be deleted once the process has been executed.
2. Read the entire article before starting to implement the process on the device.
3. We, at Geek Chunk, own no responsibility if the device does not get un-rooted properly or some damage comes to it. Do it at your own risk.

Softwares Required

The following softwares are required for the procedure to occur. Downloading links have been added for the readers convenience.

Procedure

Step 1: Download RSD Lite and install it.

Step 2: Download Stock firmware and extract the folder on to the system.

Step 3: Open the xml file in note pad – (“VZW_XT926_4.0.4-7.7.1Q-144_VQW_S3-34-25_CFC.xml”)

Step 4: Edit the file xml file. Delete all the lines starting with “getvar”. In all there are two lines that need to be removed. Save the edits and close the note pad.

Step 5: Open RSD Lite and then browse the xml file that was just edited.

Step 6: Put the cell phone on AP Fast Boot Mode.

Switch off the phone and, press and hold the Volume Up + Volume Down + Power button together.  This will lead to the Boot Mode Selection Menu, scroll down and select AP Fast Boot.

Step 7: Connect the phone to the system via USB.

Step 8: The Droid Razr HD should be recognized as XT926. Start the device and wait for the flashing process to finish. It will take about 20 minutes.

Step 9: Once the process ends, phone will reboot and revert to stock firmware.

These are pretty simple steps that need to be followed accordingly to get the desired results. Just follow the steps at mentioned and there will be no need to worry for anything to go wrong.

Design and Weight

When it comes to looks, Nexus 10 and Windows Surface can’t be more different. The latter sports a slim and light design, but with a screen that is a whopping 10.6 inches. The Nexus 10 on the other hand is a bit chunkier since it has a large bezel out. But, it’s still very light because of its uni-body design.

The Nexus 10 possesses a 5MP rear camera AND a 1.9 MP front camera while the Surface has 720p for both. In other words, Google sails ahead in this one by dint of Nexus’ superior camera quality.

Price

The Nexus 10 does not disappoint in this category either. It’s true that the price starts at $399 for the 16GB storage version, but it’s a better option compared to the costlier Surface which only offers 16GB for a whopping $499+.

Applications

A smart device is just a wireless mobile PC unless it has apps. Sadly, this is where both tablets fall behind when compared with smartphones. There aren’t enough quality tablet apps in the market for one thing. The Nexus 10 can run some of them but they won’t look as attractive and will cover a lot of unnecessary space.

Usability

Surface’s user interface makes it a hit with consumers rather than enterprise users, but its workable keyboard is what makes it popular with entrepreneurs and individuals on the go. Nexus 10, on the other hand, is mostly aimed at YouTube users or online video fans who prefer to buy cheaper tablets for their thrills.

No one, actually. It all comes down to which tablet suits your needs better. If you are looking for a cheap yet aesthetically pleasing smart device that you can watch movies on to your heart’s content, Google’s Nexus seems a better choice. Nintendo have always developed their consoles around the controller and the Nintendo Wii U isn’t different.

The Nintendo Wii U gamepad will be one of the most impressive controllers up to date. According to the pictures, it will be very ergonomic and will be equally comfortable in small and large hands. The Nintendo Wii U gamepad offers a range of functions and you’ll need to change the way you hold it depending on the game you play. I had the chance to try it myself and I assure you that the controller is currently the most comfortable gamepad you can find, so you won’t be disappointed by it. It definitely enhances the gaming experience and makes the Nintendo Wii U a worthy competitor of the PS3 and Xbox 360.

The Software

There are a range of games available for the Nintendo Wii U and we can’t deny that you can choose from thousands of titles. However, the console has one big problem – it doesn’t have a game that will lead the sales and popularize the console. The Xbox 360 had Gears of War, the Nintendo 64 had Super Mario 64, etc. However, the Nintendo Wii U, despite the large number of games, doesn’t have a leader who will become a system seller. The lack of a killer-app may prove to be a huge minus for the console, because games like NintendoLand, Wii Tennis and Wii Bowling are interesting and interactive, but they don’t offer the uniqueness which is required for this type of console. Nintendo should hope that the unique controller will make up for the lack of a killer-app.

The User Interface

If I have to be honest, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Wii’s interface. In fact, I hated it. Thankfully, the Nintendo Wii U’s interface was greatly improved and it has almost nothing to do with the old and rigid interface of the Wii. The Nintendo Wii U offers two menus – one is displayed on the TV and the other is shown on the controller. The menus are pretty much similar and offer options like accessing your friends list, the application and game store, and the game list. The user moves the analong sticks in order to move through the menus.

The interesting thing about the Nintendo Wii U is that it can play the old Wii games as well. In order to do this, the user has to switch over to the Wii channel which runs the Wii legacy operating system. The transition is quite quick, so Nintendo have done a good job improving the console’s compatibility with older games.

The Load Times

The load times is one of the most disappointing aspects of the Nintendo Wii U. The console uses new a new disc format which isn’t like the Blu-Rays and DVDs used to play games on the Xbox, PS3 and Wii. The special Nintendo Wii U disc format can take up to 25GB of data and has a write/read speed of 22.5Mb/second. This is way faster than the Xbox 360 and PS3, so the loading time should be shorter, right? However, I was unpleasantly surprised when I noticed that the loading time isn’t very fast and in fact, it takes longer than the games on the PS3 or Xbox 360. I’m not sure if this is, because of the new type of discs or because the console isn’t so powerful. The worst part is that you can sometimes notice a significant slowdown in menus as well.

The Online Interface

This is one of the major improvements along with the HD graphics and controller. Nintendo Wii U offers a new type of online experience which can’t be compared with the one offered by the Wii. Playing games online, browsing applications and games and installing them on your console is easier than expected and I must admit that I am pleasantly surprised with the flexibility of the online interface. The only negative thing I have to say about the online interface is the fact that you have to add someone as a friend in order to see what he is playing.

Pros

• The Game pad is very innovative and enhances the gaming experience
• The new interface is much better than the old one
• The online interface, leagues and features have been significantly improved
• The Nintendo Wii U supports Full HD graphics
• You can play Wii games as well
• A wide range of Nintendo Wii U games
• You can use the online store to get your hands on same-day releases.
• The new Miiverse social networking application is interesting and useful.

Cons

• The console doesn’t have a killer-app that will instantly attract more clients
• It takes a lot of time to download software updates
• Some applications load very slowly and there is some slight lag in some of the menus
• The Nintendo Wii U won’t support next-gen game engines
• Despite the controller’s ergonomics, it is still quite bulky and may feel uncomfortable for some people
• The Game pad’s battery lasts for just 3-4 hours

Conclusion

The Nintendo Wii U is quite an interesting introduction of the next generation consoles. In my opinion, it doesn’t offer what most of us expected, but the console definitely has some qualities that make it a unique piece of hardware. It doesn’t support the unique graphics which everyone expected, but the improved controller, interface and games offer a new experience that will certainly be appreciated by millions of gamers. The introduction of the new online store and the Miiverse application enhance the online experience and makes working with a console a very enjoyable experience. Overall, this is a platform with a huge potential which unfortunately wasn’t completely exploited by the people working at Nintendo.
