Apple Fixed Death Grip Antenna Issues In The iPhone 4S

October 15, 2011 | By | Reply More

When iPhone 4 was launched one of the big controversies surrounding the device was related to its antenna design. When customers hold the device in the natural way, they lost signals. After that consumer complaints got much louder and Consumer Reports stated that from now on they are not going to recommend iPhone 4 to the consumers due to signal issues. The problem was related  to regional signal strength, so, some of the users particularly faced the problem.

Afterwards, Apple had to hold a press conference to address the matter. But they focused on a relevant but a separate issue in the said press conference. The issues was caused by holding iPhone 4 by bridging the left lower antenna break which caused signal problems for some people. Apple only focused on normal signal attenuation which originated due to gripping the phone tightly. Following video, released last year, explains the problem clearly:

So, after the initial testing of iPhone 4S, many users seem very satisfied with the antenna and they also tested it by gripping tightly the iPhone but there was no signal loss. One user even compared both devices, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S by gripping them tightly and covering the band in a same place. The results show that iPhone 4 had same problem but iPhone 4S did not faced any signal loss.

As you can see in the above picture, iPhone 4S really proves that it has come with a significant antenna upgrade, so, it is able to switch antennas to maximize the signal strength. So, it seems like a great news for the people who are interested in getting this new device from Apple.

InsanelyGreatMac has uploaded the video to demonstrate the power of iPhone 4S’ antennas, take a look:
