Siri has been a very popular feature after the release of the iPhone 4S and since the last two months people have been trying to mod and port it to other iDevices. Every single developer has his eye on the Voice Recognition Assistant. Some of the Siri files in the iPhone 4S are not allowed to be copied and therefore cannot easily be ported. This is why Siri ports have not been fully functional with other iDevices. I’m sure you know that the iOS 5.0 offered really poor battery life which is why the iOS 5.0.1 was released. Well, apparently, the problem with the files that can’t be cloned has been solved too.
MuscleNerd is a very popular person when it comes to developers and JailBreaking. He tweeted some time ago that the files for Siri can be obtained from the iOS 5.0.1 without piracy. He said that the latest release contained decrypted ramdisks.
What you need to know is that in order to port Siri to any of your iDevices you will still need an iPhone 4S or a 4S authentication. You will have to change keys every twenty four hours otherwise Siri will not be working for you.
That’s a lot of hassle don’t you think? So if you ask me, I’d just tell you to sell your current iDevice and go for the latest handset by Apple. Siri is pre-installed in iPhone 4S, you don’t have to worry about JailBreaks and Ports and you will not have to change the keys every now and then. Although apart from Siri, a better camera and a faster processor, the iPhone 4S doesn’t really offer anything outstanding. So those of you who cannot buy it, please do not feel bad. iPhone 5 should be released next year or so I think. You should save for that because that should bring a lot of different changes.
Apple needed something significantly different for the iPhone 4S to start selling and that’s where Siri comes. A better camera and a faster processor just wouldn’t have cut it.
We’ll talk more about Siri right here so stay with us.
