Ufone Brand Makes a Mark at a Global Forum

By Jamil Arif on September 3, 2010

Amidst these troubling times for Pakistan good news is difficult to come by; however , Ufone has yet again proven to be original and outstanding. The esteemed ‘World Communication Awards (WCA)’ committee has nominated Ufone for the Best Brand Award. The WCA are the most prestigious telecom awards around the globe and as some may call it, the Oscar of the telecom industry. Ufone is one of seven companies worldwide, and the only one in Pakistan to have been shortlisted for ‘The Best Brand 2010’. This is indeed a great feat and a moment of pride for both Ufone and Pakistan.

Ufone’s nomination should be no surprise, When it comes to originality and innovation, no one does it better than Ufone. This nomination is a result of the risky but innovative strategies they have employed throughout the years. The original humor they employ in their adverts is just one such strategy which is now vainly being copied by the rest of the market. At a time when standard advertisements were the name of the game Ufone came forward and took a risk; it formulated everyday humor into its adverts and  won the hearts of millions. Today Ufone advertisements are awaited by viewers of all ages and social classes to see how the next concept will bring yet another smile to all with its uniquely humorous communication. After this nomination Ufone has not only made its mark locally but internationally as well.

Mr. Akbar Khan Chief Marketing Officer Ufone said at a time when distress has over-ridden the country, this news comes as a source of inspiration and great pride for Pakistanis. Ufone thanks all its customers for their loyalty and support without whom this feat would not have been possible, and promises to continue making U, the customers, smile through these hard times.

Ufone?? I’m really Surprised.. What they are doing is coming up with two or three jokers and make fun of each other. Jazz Current campaign is more powerful then Ufone, IMO. I dont know but I dont Like UFone at all and there Marketing strategy..

lol Ali you sure do have a sense of humor but my friend i see you lack asthetic. FYI Mobilink is copying Ufone’s strategy and the new JAZZ TVC may be funny but it shows a desperate step taken by Mobilink which shows how vulnerable they have become. As a pakistani one should feel proud that a pakistani brand has been accredited at a global level but then again i guess it is our Pakistani nature that we criticize everything that is good and what we ourselves cannot achieve. So why not stand by Ufone it is you and I and every Pakistani who may in turn help Ufone become the only Pakistani Brand to stand above the best telecom operators around the world.

and yet we the customers face weak coverage, low signal, voice distortion, drop call issues …. brilliant ufone … way to go …

FYI ufone is not Pakistani company any more its been taken over by ETI-SALAT group the Dubai based company …

ufone and every other cellular network company in Pakistan is full of shit and lies mobilink claiming to be the self made best network in Pakistan, ufone following the same line of argument, same is with telenor, warid .. only thing care about is money and publicity based on lies no one cares about customers as long as they are filling their pockets with money … always lieing about coverage and services never telling about the hidden charges and all … truthfulness used to be the trait of Muslims alas its a long lost thing now …
