By Jamil Arif on August 22, 2010

Every top leading business is in a race to be on cutting edge but Nokia has put sustainability and environmental protection in its Beijing campus with 10 % sustainability built and that makes it the one of the most environment friendly building in the china. Double glass curtains keep the building temperature constant and natural light keeps the electricity bill down.

The site is housed close to but outside the major city with all the major suppliers close by to reduce the carbon footprint. Reduced carbon foot print is achieved by the absence of long distance trucking and shipping. All packaging material is disposed off in a central manner.

Through recycle program 30 tonnes of mobile phones are recycled in 700 cities of china. All this ensures that when a customer buys a nokia anywhere in the world they are assured that the design is for the future and produced by a responsible manufacturer.
