Warid launches international GPRS roaming service with 73 operators across 32 countries today (Thursday) to allow its customers access to internet while traveling abroad.
Under the GPRS roaming service, Warid subscribers, while abroad and roaming, can browse the internet, check e-mails, share and download photos and songs by using internet enabled mobile handsets, laptops or PDA devices. Customers will experience the same consistent level of service performance and security, which they experience on the Warid home network.
In addition to this latest offer, Warid subscribers can also enjoy the existing Voice and SMS roaming facilities with 240 roaming partners across 126 countries.
On the occasion of launching the new service, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Warid, Muneer Farooqui said that the GPRS roaming service will facilitate our valued subscribers to stay connected while travelling around the world.
“Besides communicating with their dear and near ones, the subscribers will have access to internet resources, find latest news, and will also be able to conduct business correspondence,” he added.
The company deployed Next Generation Network (NGN) technology to all the 64 districts in the country.
Warid, a subsidiary of UAE-based Abu Dhabi Group, launched its commercial operation in Bangladesh in May 2007. The company has recently re-launched its service with a changed logo and new brand promises reflecting and symbolizing the strategic transformation of the company to become a customer- centric telecom company in the country.
