After Warid now Ufone has launched a location based services (LBS) under the brand name UTrack. This much better and improved version as compared to warid friend finder service. This service is not only for the friends but its for all social segments. These service will allow users to find or locate friends, family, POI near the user, or just monitor employees and work force.

Details: -
1. UTrack Find
The customers will be able to request the location of any mobile user of Ufone only.
No subscription required and charges on per-request basis.
This service can also be used to locate businesses like restaurants, boutiques, Banks, etc. in a specific area that are near the user.
Procedure
Any Ufone user will initiate the request to track another person. This request will be sent through SMS to a designated short code. User will type “Find MSISDN” and send it to short code 2002.An SMS will be sent to the target user to take his consent. The target user will get three options;
- Yes, Just this time.
- No.
- Always.
User will reply to that SMS with 1, 2 or 3 and will not be charged for replying to the SMS. If user chooses option (1), the sender will receive the location. If user chooses option (2), the sender will receive a message that the user has denied your request to locate his/her location”
If the target user chooses option (3), the user can track the location of the target user anytime without requiring permission. This permission is valid for 180 days. Except in case of unlimited permission, whenever the subscriber sends a request to track the location, the target user will receive an SMS notifying them that their location has been tracked by the user. To de-activate this permission, target user will type “NO MSISDN” and send it to the designated short code 2001. This will revoke his/her permission to the specified MSISDN. The MSISDN will also send a notification that they were tracked, except in case of unlimited permission.
User can also track own location by send an SMS to short code 2002 with the following command “Find Me”.
The service can also be used to locate popular places like restaurants, hotels, ATM’s and tourist spots in the vicinity. The user will, for instance, type “Find Near”, send it to short code 2002 and get list of categories, user can select from that list to get information of the place they are interested for example restaurants or banks etc. information will be given of POI in a range of 2 km.
Users will reply from 1 to 11 to choose the , in every category details of POI will be given for example in restaurants a list of restaurant will be shown, user can choose a particular restaurant to get more detail on it. Reply with keyword “M” to get more options.

2. UTrack Buddy
User will get SMS alerts whenever their friends are in the same area as themselves.
Procedure
The user will have to first register himself and his friends, by sending a SUB to the short code 2010. User will type SUB and send it to short code 2010. Rs.50/- + tax will be deducted on registering to this service.
On successful registration, user will receive a confirmation SMS that he has been subscribed to the service. User will then reply to the same SMS to add his friends. The format will be simply, “Add MSISDN1 MSISDN2”. User can add up to 2 friends for free on short code 2017.
User can however add as many friends as they want (on top of two free friends) at an addition cost of Rs.25/- + tax per friend. User will simply SMS the following command to add new friends e.g. Add 9233XXXXX to short code 2017. On confirmation, if the number of members added is more than two, He/she will be charged for extra members through a confirmation SMS (MT charging) from short code 2019.
Confirmation: All the target members will receive an SMS confirming their consent for activating the ‘UTRACK BUDDY‘ service. The target user will also have to register to this service and will be charged Rs. 50/- + tax per month.
The target user will have only two options, either s/he can register to the service and give his/her consent to be tracked or s/he can decline the permission to be tracked.
User will reply with 1 to allow to be tracked and 2 to decline.
User can at any time remove a particular friend by sending “No MSISDN” to the short code 2017 to or “UNSUB” by sending SMS to the short code 2017 to cancel the subscription.
Whenever the target users are in the same area, the users will receive an SMS informing the users that her/his friends are in the same area.
System will check after every 15 minutes if the user and his/her friend are in the same location. If user(s) are found in the same location the next check will be in an hour for that particular friend or friends.
Once friends are detected in the same location both or member in the same vicinity will get an alert.

· Registration Charges – Rs.50 + tax per month. With Rs. 25 + tax per additional member, any number of friends can be added.
· Available to both post pay and prepay subscribers.
3. UTrack Family
Tracks and records location of family-members on an hourly basis. Log is accessible Online and through SMS at any time of the day. Online log will provide detailed history. The log history is saved for up to one year. User can get a 3-hour log history through SMS.
Procedure
Registration: To use this service, user will first register through SMS.
To register through SMS, user will send SUB to short code 2004. Registration fee of Rs.100/- + tax per month – will be deducted when the user subscribes.
Adding Members: After successful registration, user will receive an SMS from short code 2007 and reply to that SMS with the target numbers, separated by space. Format will be “Add MSISDN MSISDN”. User can add maximum four MSISDN’s against the registration fee of Rs.100/- + tax per month.
To add a fifth or more members, user will send the ADD MSISDN to the short code 2007. Following command will be used “Add MSISDN”. When the target confirms, the user will be charged by the system on an MT SMS they will get from short code 2016.
All the target members will receive an SMS for their consent to be tracked. Target users will reply with ‘1’ for Yes and ‘2’ for No before being tracked or not. The target members will, however, not be able to cancel the subscription without the approval of the family head/Master account.
Web Login: On successful registration, subscriber will receive a password through SMS which can be used to access the online account. The online login will allow user to add/remove/edit the target MSISDN’s and view the log history. The web portal is accessed from http://Utrack.ufone.com.
User can also access the log through SMS. The user will type “History” and send it to a short code 2003 to get a 3-hour log history via SMS.
To remove a member user will send the command “No MSISDN” to short code 2003.To unsubscribe from the service user will SMS “UNSUB” to short code 2003.
Price
- Registration Charges: Rs.100/+Tax per month (for up to 4 family members).
- Rs.25/+ Tax per additional member.
- User will be charged Rs.3/+Tax to retrieve the log history through SMS.

4. UTrack Business
The service will help meet requirement of the corporate sector and organizations by tracking/updating their employees’ locations. It will keep detail logs of employees. Employer can check updated information through web or even check history log through the web interface. Individual employees can also be tracked through SMS. Location of individuals can also been seen on map over the web interface.
Procedure
Users will SMS to subscribe to the desired package, following command will be used: “SUB to short code 2310 or 2320 or 2330” (2310, 2320, 2330 are short codes for three packages offered).
On successful deduction of amount, a Client Login ID and password will be created and communicated to the customer via SMS.
User will use the login detail to access the web portal http://Utrack.ufone.com where s/he will enter the MSISDN’s of target users individually. Bulk loading will be done by Ufone. Users can also contact customer service by calling 333 or 111-333-100 or by going to customer center and share a list of MSISDN. This list will be added to the users account and s/he will be billed accordingly.
Employee can also be saved by their names along with their MSISDN. An SMS will be sent to all the target users to take their consent. There will be Re.1 charge on replying to this SMS. The target users will be clearly informed that their location will be tracked on an hourly basis, and it can only be done if they give their consent through a reply SMS. In all cases, the website will have updated statuses.
The location of all target users will be updated on the web portal on an hourly basis according to a schedule and this log will be saved and accessible online for a period of 12 months. The employer/subscriber can also track the location of target users through SMS by sending FIND MSISDN (employee’s MSISDN) to short code 240.
The respective registration fee will be charged from the employer’s post pay account every month. To terminate the service, user/employer can send UNSUB to short code 240,this will terminate the service.
The targeted users/employee can also turn off their consent by sending UNSUB MSISDN of employer to short code 240, at Rs.1 per SMS. The status of target users will be updated on the web portal accordingly e.g. Permission granted, Permission denied, permission cancelled. User will also be able to see the location of the tracked MSISDN by clicking on the link on the webpage against the MSISDN/Employee Name and see the location on Map.

UTrack Business Corporate Price Model
The suggested charges to retrieve an employee’s current location through SMS are Re. 1/- plus tax. Only Post pay users can register to the service. The employees/targeted users can have post-paid or prepaid Ufone connection/SIM.
Web interface
Subscribers of UTrack Family and UTrack Business will monitor their members through web interface. Following are mechanics of the website:
Users will login to the website on the following link http://utrack.ufone.com.
They will give their login and password on the main screen.If the user has forgotten their password they can click on forgot password and request by providing the required information. On successful login user can use the navigate panel on the left side of the page to go to their desired option. User can perform the following function through the navigation panel:
· Modify/update their profile.
· Add member.
· Modify member.
· Check Location.
· Check Log.
· View Members.
· Configure timer.
· Change Password.
In check location user can check their logs to see history locations of the tracked members. In Check log user will be able to check history & activity log of their account. In view members, details of all the members and their current status can be viewed. In the configure timer option user can defined the hour and day at which they want to check the location of the targeted user.
· In UTrack Family users can have define check on individual members.
· In UTrack Business definition will be made for all employees.
Rules of the game:-
- Only Post paid connection to setup UTrack Business account.
- Employees or targeted user can have prepaid or post paid connections.
- Only 2 friends can be added in the registration fee for UTrack Buddy, all other friends are added at an additional cost.
- Only 4 members can be added in the registration fees for UTrack Family, all other members are added at an additional cost.
- Only Ufone numbers can be traced/tracked for all these services.
- In case of UTrack Family/UTrack Buddy and UTrack Business only one of these services can be subscribed on the same MSISDN at a time.
- In UTrack Family subscriber can add as many members as they want above the limit of four free members; however each new member will be added separately on short code 2005.
- In UTrack Family, added members cannot remove themselves. Members will only be removed by account holder.
- In UTrack Family log will only displayed after the first three hours of creating the account and adding members.
- Multiple logins are not allowed on the web interface.
