Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has decided to take disciplinary action against China Mobile Company for selling illegal Sims on the basis of reports it received from the ministry of interior and law enforcement agencies.
PTA sources told on Sunday that the report sent by police and law enforcement agencies to the interior ministry revealed that terrorists have used Sims of a Chinese cellular company in terrorist activities occurred from January 2009 to 1st August 2009 in various parts of the country. Sources said the investigative agencies were facing severe difficulties in arresting and tracing different terrorists due to non-confirmation from NADRA and non-registration in the company because the operational network of Pak-China Mobile Company is very old.
According to sources, the interior ministry has directed action against such mobile companies involved in sale of illegal Sims in the light of the report and, therefore, PTA has decided to take disciplinary action against the company.
