PTCL has recently changed its procedure of issuing student packages of Broadband internet. Previously, the student had to fill in the online form and PTCL would confirm his/her information from the university registrar within a few days and then proceed further on giving the internet Connection. Now after filling in the form, they give you the form you have filled in pdf format and ask you to submit it to the nearest OSS (One Stop Shop).
The PTCL officials say that the change has taken place because the registrar of the respective universities were not responding to the mails within a day which was causing a lot of delay in the issuance of connections. In this way, the student can verify his particulars from the registrar/dean/principal/faculty member easily as they find it more easy to sign and mark a stamp. It has also increased the student package range down to O levels students all around the country.
Though PTCL has taken a very good and positive step, it is yet in its initial stages and many of the PTCL Customer Care Centers and other PTCL offices are unaware of the new procedure.
